The SOUTHERN HERITAGE FESTIVAL was held June 27, 1998 at the Prizery and Constitution Square, Downtown South Boston Tobacco Warehouse District and at the South Boston-Halifax County Museum of Fine Arts and History located at 1540 Wilborn Avenue. Gospel choirs, country music, Buckingham Lining Bar Gang, storytelling, face painting, wagon rides, demonstrations such as handmade furniture making, quilting, honeymaking, horseshoeing, pottery, and rugmaking, antique tractors, and "art market". In the evening at Constitution Square there was a barbecue dinner, square dancing, and bluegrass music. Sponsored by the Community Arts Center Foundation and the South Boston - Halifax County Museum of Fine Arts and History. |
