The 1998 SOUTHERN HERITAGE FESTIVAL exhibit by the Hookers, Strippers and Company. This group is a member of the Worldwide ATHA (Association of Traditional Hooking Arts). This 19 member group with members from Chatham to Danville to Clarksville to Graham, NC filled the main gallery of the South Boston-Halifax County Museum of Fine Arts and History with their craft. This traditional method uses wool fabric, hand dyed or natural, and all rugs are hand hooked. The group demonstrated their art in the gallery Saturday, June 27, 1998. |
