Welcome to Halifax, Virginia
Located in southern Virginia, this county seat town of Halifax has been noted for its handsome houses, churches, and lush landscaping for over a century.
The Mountain Road Historic District is a tree-shaded road that stretches west from the courthouse square into the countryside. The road was built up slowly so that it now presents a range of buildings from the early 19th century to the present.
Visit the War Memorial across from the courthouse.
By the shores of Bannister Lake, Halifax provides residents, businesses, and visitors with the charm of a small town and the atmosphere of a resort.
Nearby attractions and lodgings include the magnificent landmark of Berry Hill, a NASCAR sanctioned track ( Big Daddy's ) in South Boston, VIR - the Virginia International Raceway, horesback riding, hiking, boating, as well as plenty of hunting and fishing oppportunities.
