16: 1130 North Main Street



Vernacular Victorian residence built in 1875 by Robert E. Jordan, one of the brothers who founded the first local bank. Occupied until her death in the 1980s by his daughter, Elizabeth J. Booth. Her husband John Booth was a mayor of South Boston.

This house was tragically burned to the ground in 2002 while roof repairs were being done.
