230 Mountain Road, Grand Oaks
Across the street from St. John's Episcopal Church, Grand Oaks was also built by Dabney Cosby. It is an 1820 style home, but was later renovated to Colonial Revival. It has magnificent grounds with boxwoods and old growth trees. It was purchased from the Holt family by Colonel Vaughn of Philadelphia, who came here to build the hydroelectric dam on the Banister River and kept this place for the summer. Colonel Vaughn renovated the home. Back to Map |
