Membership Cocktail Reception & Ellen Elmes Watercolor Workshop
March 7 & 8
Ellen Elmes, award winning artist and teacher, will be in town March 7 and 8 to lead a watercolor workshop. Many of you may know that one of her works is in the permanent collection at The Prizery; the piece she created in memory of her mother's battle with Alzheimer's disease.
The workshop begins Friday evening with a presentation in the Chastain Theater. This date is also the date of our membership cocktail reception – FREE- so put Friday, March 7 on your calendar. (Invitations will be mailed and an RSVP appreciated.)
At the cocktail reception, to be held on the art gallery level, you will be able to meet Ellen Elmes as well as enjoy the National Tobacco Exhibit which will be on display at that time. The reception begins at 6:00. Ms. Elmes' presentation will begin at 7:30. All Parsons-Bruce members are invited to attend both the reception and the presentation at no cost.
For those of you interested in participating in the workshop, the fun continues on Saturday, March 8 from 8:30 – 5:00. Space is limited to 15 participants and the cost is $75. Spots will be filled on a first come first served basis, so reserve your space now by making a check to PBAA and mailing it to Box 234, South Boston, VA.
We will be opening the workshop to the community if PBAA members do not fill it up, so act soon to reserve your space. Ellen Elmes is a dynamic and talented artist and teacher. No experience? It doesn't matter. This workshop is for all levels. The small number of students will allow for plenty of individual attention. So, if you have ever itched to try your hand at watercolor... here's your chance.
