Resources for the study of the American War for Independence

The Web sites listed below have been most helpful in putting together the story of The Crossing of the Dan.

The original intent of this research was to gather all the significant information about the subject for a permanent exhibit at The Prizery in South Boston, Virginia, but during the process, I have discovered that the story was not well known. The "Race to the Dan" and the "Retreat to the Dan" have had some acknowledgements, but the "Crossing" itself does not seem to be recognized as the culmination of Greene's strategy for winning the war in the southern theater.

Hopefully, this story will find it's way into its appropriate position in the list of significant moments in the history of our nation.
